HONA

Hona Financial

Know what a job is costing while you can still do something about it.

Scan the receipt at the counter. Watch the phase against its budget. When the work is done, your lender approves the draw from their phone.

The problem

Most contractors find out a job lost money after it's finished.

Receipts end up in a truck console, a text thread, and a shoebox. Subcontractor invoices arrive weeks late. The numbers only come together when the bookkeeper closes the job — and by then every decision that could have protected the margin has already been made.

Hona moves that moment forward. Costs land against a phase and a category the day they happen, so a category running hot is something you see in week three rather than something you learn in month five.

How it works

Three things, done properly.

One

Capture the cost where it happens

Photograph the receipt in the parking lot. Hona reads the merchant, date, tax and total, and you assign it to a project, phase and category before you've put the truck in gear. Split a receipt across categories, record a return, attach a tracking number — the ledger stays true to what actually happened.

Two

Watch the budget by phase and category

Every project breaks down the way a job actually runs — phases, then categories, then the receipts underneath. Estimated against actual, all the way down. Over budget shows in one color and one color only, so a screen with nothing red on it means something.

Three

Request the draw. Get it approved.

Tap the mark on a finished phase and your lender is notified with the costs and the progress photos behind it. They review it on their phone and approve, or send it back with a note about what they need first. No package to assemble. No week of waiting to find out you were missing one photograph.

For hard money lenders

Free for your borrowers' lenders. Permanently.

A lender you're funded by gets read-only access to the project you share with them — budgets, receipts, progress photos, and the draw requests you submit. They pay nothing, ever. The access is yours to grant and yours to revoke, and the project history stays with your company when the loan does not.

Who Hona is for

Anyone who buys the materials.

General contractors and remodelers running their own budgets. Fix and flip investors managing their own jobs. Anyone borrowing against a project who would rather submit a draw in ten seconds than assemble one over a weekend.

If a general contractor buys the materials on your projects, they're the one who should be holding the phone — and Hona is built so that the lender relationship still belongs to you.
